I really appreciated this post for its straightforward honesty. I too, like anyone I know, have a creative black hole from time to time (some lasting days, other times weeks or months), and I think you are so right in your approach to just sit with this and let yourself become inspired by poetry.. and then by adding to past unfinished works. I'm also a full-time artist who is also an art teacher and I sometimes feel disingenuous in trying to offer inspiration to others when I often lack it in myself! Your post reminded me to be as patient with myself as I try to be with my students. We all need a little time out... and then time to just sit and ruminate until the muse returns. Please let me know if you expect to have any upcoming classes in Portland. I'll tell my students about it, and try to attend myself! Hi Jacqueline.
