Hi Jacqueline. I really appreciated this post for its straightforward honesty. I too, like anyone I know, have a creative black hole from time to time (some lasting days, other times weeks or months), and I think you are so right in your approach to just sit with this and let yourself become inspired by poetry.. and then by adding to past unfinished works. I'm also a full-time artist who is also an art teacher and I sometimes feel disingenuous in trying to offer inspiration to others when I often lack it in myself! Your post reminded me to be as patient with myself as I try to be with my students. We all need a little time out... and then time to just sit and ruminate until the muse returns.

Please let me know if you expect to have any upcoming classes in Portland. I'll tell my students about it, and try to attend myself!

Thank you, Sharon for the comment! I am going through a creative streak right now! Thus, not much blogging ;-). But having lots of fun with paint in the studio!
Glad you liked the DVD!

Jacqueline, I bought your DVD last year from Creative Catalyst and love it. I, too, have felt the loss of the Muse from time to time. It was quite brave of you to simply sit, then take small steps to bring yourself back into the creative flow. Thanks for the thoughts and inspiration.

Thanks, Mary Lou! Y
You can find a dealer for Dreamweaver Stencils here<a href="http://www.dreamweaverstencils.com/:. There is also this site: https://<a href="http://www.brass-stencils.com which has the stencil that I used on the DVD. I do use the cheap plastic ones as well. I also like using produce bags and screen door guards and other stuff that I find at hardware stores. It is a lot of fun! I will be adding some videos to my blog soon - so keep an eye out!

Great to see you back!! I purchased your DVD several months ago from Creative Catalyst and I just love it and am so inspired by your work! Question if I may - where do you buy your brass templates/stencils? I am having no luck finding anything as nice as those; just the cheap plastic ones that don't really work well. Thank you so much! Keep painting!!
